Herbarium – Monographs

The Monographs section expands upon the Herbarium by offering deeper, structured profiles for each plant. These entries weave together traditional knowledge, contemporary herbal understanding, phytochemistry, actions, energetics, and practical uses. While the Herbarium focuses on direct observation, the monographs provide the contextual knowledge that helps make sense of those observations.

Each monograph includes:
• a summary of key actions and indications
• notes on chemistry and constituent behaviour
• energetic qualities (warming, cooling, drying, moistening, opening, grounding)
• relevant folklore or historical context
• practical guidance on preparation and dosage
• safety notes where appropriate

The goal is not simply to catalogue plants but to present them in a way that reflects their complexity — both biochemical and relational. These monographs draw on herbal tradition, modern science, sensory experience, and Dawna’s ongoing training, creating a resource that’s both grounded and alive.

This section is still in development and will grow steadily as studies progress and new plants come into focus. Over time, it will become a foundational reference point for herbal learners, integrating observation with understanding in a clear, approachable, and evolving way.
