ABOUT US

Plant Advocate is a listening space rooted in plant intuition and herbal wisdom.
It’s a place where stories, remedies, and rights come together—held in deep respect for the green world. Whether you’re meeting a new herb or walking the edge of the wild, you’re not alone. Plant listening and herbal wisdom remind us that the natural world has a voice — and that we are part of it.
Sometimes, it’s not about tuning in, but about stopping the filtering out. The plants have always been speaking. We’re simply remembering how to listen — and sometimes, the organ we listen, perceive, and communicate with is the heart.

Plant Advocate was born from the knowing — that nature is not only alive, but communicating throughout all of itself, us included.

As a student medical herbalist, I’ve been studying the actions and indications of plants. But that lens barely scratches the surface of what a plant is. Saying a plant is ‘good for digestion’ is like saying a human is ‘good at typing’ — a functional view, but one that misses the essence. A plant’s being — its phytality — exists beyond its utility.

This site is a home for listening. A place where herbal knowledge meets story, where plants are known not as resources to be extracted, but as our allies to be honoured.

Here you’ll find:
A growing Herbarium, with field notes, signatures, and reflections

The Plant Advocate Podcast, where we explore plant rights, tea tastings, children’s stories, and wild field recordings

A Children’s section, where two curious dogs, Buddy and Richie, share gentle foraging tales and safe herbal adventures

Thoughtful pieces on Plant Wisdom — from herbal energetics to the ethics of herbalism in modern life.
This work is rooted in stewardship, not ownership — in the idea that our role is not to dominate, but to listen; to rejoin the living conversation we’ve drowned out or long forgotten.

Whether you’re an experienced herbalist, plant worker or forager, an elder with stories to share, a parent foraging with little ones, a first-time wildcrafter, or someone who feels that plants are more than what they’ve been told — you are welcome here. This is a space for shared learning, remembrance, and listening together.
