The Pack Stays Together

A path-side promise from Buddy & Richie’s Field Guide

Buddy and Richie love to walk and run outdoors. Through woods, across fields, and especially anywhere with water — ears up, tails wagging, always ready for the next adventure.

But there’s something they never forget:
No one gets left behind.

If someone in the group starts to lag -tying a shoelace, taking a photo, wandering slowly behind – Richie is on it.

He’ll dart back, soft-eyed and alert, and check on you – as many times as it takes.
“Don’t get left behind!” he seems to say.
If you stop for too long, he’ll pause beside you until you’re ready to carry on. Or run back and forth between you and the others.

At night it’s the same. If someone stays downstairs, Richie stays too — a little sleepy guardian, keeping the pack whole.

Buddy? Buddy goes with whoever heads to bed first. Confident. Trusting. But if you stray too far off the chosen path — or heaven forbid, sit down on a rock like you’re staying there — Buddy will bark. Loudly. Because clearly, you’re in error.

They get it from their dad, really. He’s famous for saying,
“Have you never seen a scary movie? That’s exactly when the drama happens. We stay together.”

And so we do.

“Because we’re a pack. And the pack stays together.” – Buddy (and Richie, who already ran back to make sure you’re still coming)
